Dear Readers,

Most people believe in having the freedom to make choices about how they’ll live and what they’ll do. That level of self-sovereignty should be relatively straightforward anyways since no one but us can control the actions of our bodies and our minds. Even so, governments are looking for any way to gain control over us.

One of the primary ways they try to control us is through our money. Money impacts nearly every aspect of our daily lives after all, so if they can gain leverage over our financial relationships, they can attain massive levels of influence over us. No wonder governments have spent centuries solidifying their control over monetary systems.

We saw a potent, and unexpected, example of the lengths to which governments will go to control their people earlier this year when the Canadian government froze the financial accounts of citizens who disagreed with COVID vaccine mandates. It seems that we’ll be seeing another very similar situation playing out soon on the other side of the world.
