2022 will likely go down in history as one of the most troubling years for the “Crypto” space, since it has been rocked by scandal after scandal and bankruptcy after bankruptcy throughout the year. People have entrusted their funds to various companies and protocols, and many have unfortunately learned the true meaning of “Not your keys, not your coins” the hard way.
Perhaps the most troubling part is that many “Crypto” adherents came into the space looking for something different. They came looking for *finance* without intermediaries. They came looking for *money* without manipulators. They came looking for *sovereignty* without sovereigns.
If 2022 has made anything clear, it’s that they went looking in the wrong place.
