Letter #193: Blockchain Can’t Protect Your Real Estate From Government Overreach

Read now to learn how blockchain can do little to truly protect your real estate from governments, benevolent or otherwise.

Dear Readers,

Bitcoin is life-changing technology. For the first time in history, humanity has property that can be perfectly protected with relative ease. How so you ask? If you keep your private key safe from others, it’s literally impossible for someone else to steal it from you.

Bitcoin lives on top of another technology, called blockchain, that many people in the world have misidentified as revolutionary technology. Don’t get me wrong — blockchain certainly is an essential part of Bitcoin’s value proposition. Rather, the error is the assumption that blockchain is some sort of cure-all that will eliminate corruption and transform every industry.

The truth is, blockchain doesn’t eliminate corruption, nor is it any good at protecting your right to anything that doesn’t live on the blockchain.
