2022 will likely go down as one of the more unpleasant years for many Bitcoiners. The difficulties experienced in the “Crypto” space throughout 2022 emboldened Bitcoin’s existing critics and birthed new critics, many of whom are taking the opportunity to expand their vocal attacks against everything that Bitcoin represents.

Many Bitcoin critics are largely relegated to small corners of Twitter, Reddit, and the like. But there are some who operate from much stronger positions and who have much larger audiences to whom they can peddle their FUD. It’s in this latter group that one of Bitcoin’s most recent critics, the Bank for International Settlements, finds itself.
