Dear Readers,
For all the hyperbole about “breaking down barriers” and “making the world a better place”, the reality is that the primary driver for every business in every industry is making money.
That is not surprising. There are, of course, many good people in the world. But we all need to eat, and we need to trade our most valuable resource — our time — in order to earn our daily bread. What good we can accomplish in life will never come to pass if we don’t have the life force needed to carry it out.
With that in mind, I’m of the opinion that we should never criticize someone for being in the business of making money. But the same certainly doesn’t hold true in the context of criticizing how businesses make money.
That last part should be rather easy for us to understand, given the monumental business failures within the “Crypto” space during 2022. Plenty of businesses have tried to make money by risking their customers’ money, and have left their customers destitute when their schemes didn’t pan out. And don’t even get me started on all of the flat out scams in this space.
All this to say that, while I understand “Crypto” businesses’ and influencers’ drive to be compensated for their time and efforts, the pathway to compensation that they’ve chosen is one that I feel I cannot condone.
